Blood tests – routine blood tests postponed

 A supplier to the NHS has advised us of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests. 

Anyone who needs a test for urgent health problems, will still get one but where your clinician feels that it is appropriate to do so, then you may be asked to come back for a test at a later date, or your appointment may be rescheduled.

 Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be re-booking your test when supplies become more easily available.

If your condition or symptoms change or get worse, please contact the NHS as you would normally.


If you or someone else is in immediate danger, please call 999 and ask for the police. If you are unable to speak you can use the Silent Solution system from a mobile phone: call 999 and then press 55. The operator will then put you through to the police.

The police will try to communicate with you by asking simple yes or no questions. If you are not able to speak, listen carefully to the questions and instructions from the call handler so they can assess your call and arrange help if needed.

Practice Pharmacists

We have  pharmacists in the practice team now who can treat you for minor ailments and help you with medication queries.

NHS Brent Health App

Brent Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) launched the free app in response to calls from patient groups. Brent Health App’s purpose is threefold:

  • To communicate health news
  • Help find local services
  • Provide healthcare information.

Users can also book GP appointments, order repeat prescriptions, access summary medical records, find local services and use as a symptom checker.

To add the app to your phone for free, search Brent Health App in Apple App Store or Google Play.

Sharps Bins

The practice no longer accepts the disposal of sharps bins from patients. Kindly call the Brent Council for more information.

New Patient Registration

If you are new to the area and need to register with one of our GP’s you must be living within the catchment area of the surgery .

You will need to bring a proof of address and your NHS medical card, if available. If you have not been previously registered with a General Practitioner under the NHS in this country and you are entitled to the NHS treatment, you will need to bring your passport. Registration can be refused if you do not meet the criteria.

Proof of identity (passport) and proof of address (utility bill or bank statement in you name) are required. If you have your medical card then please bring this along with you.

Please inform us immediately if you change your name, address, telephone number or any other details. It is patient’s/carer’s responsibility to inform the Practice and to return the NHS card to the Health Authority if the patient is out of the country for more than 3 months.

Prior to registration, a GMS 1 form with a New Registration form will be handed over to you and an appointment will be given for registration. Kindly ensure that the form is accurately completed when you attend the appointment.

Our staff will carry out a new patient check to enable your registration to be fully completed. Please note if the form is not fully completed, we may have to offer you another appointment.
